I’ve often said that when it comes to business, the entire world is an elevator.  There is no way of knowing who is standing next to you and how you can connect with them unless you make an effort.  Being open and friendly is one of the quickest ways to bridge those gaps, and the more often you do it the more you’ll realize we’re connected in unexpected ways.

Keep in mind, the point of this advice isn’t about making your pitch, but being receptive. Whether you’re talking about the weather or what you do for a living, it has been proven to increase day-to-day satisfaction.
