Spread the word on the first-ever nationwide Energy Efficeincy Day!

Today marks the inaugural National Energy Efficiency Day! We at Selling Energy are thrilled to recognize the occasion, and are proud to be a part of what we hope will be an increasingly popular nationwide commemoration. 

According to this announcement by the energy information resource Conduit, the United States production sector uses 50% less energy than it did in the 1950’s due to energy efficiency improvements. That kind of progress is certainly worth celebrating, and serves as motivation for us all to keep finding more efficient ways to power America. 

In the spirit of celebration, here are some particularly interesting efficiency-related news items from across the country: 

  • Industries in Texas could use energy efficiency advancements to save billions and gain competitive advantages in global markets, according to a recent report by The Alliance for Industrial Energy Efficiency. 
  • The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has recently announced $10 million in funding for clean energy initiatives aimed at industrial and manufacturing facilities. More information here.
  • The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has recently completed a detailed study outlining the importance of energy efficiency in fighting climate change. 

These stories are real-life examples that it is possible for businesses to improve their bottom line while also having a positive impact on the environment. Whether your clients are motivated by saving money or saving the planet, let the occasion of Energy Efficiency Day serve as a reminder that energy efficiency represents a better way of doing things.
