It’s the Start That Counts

Learn how to boost positivity and productivity by starting your morning the right way.

Hello valued blog readers! I just wanted to take a moment before today's post to let you know about the 10-city tour I'll be embarking on, starting June 1st. If you've been looking for an opportunity to attend one of my in-person workshops, now is your chance! I'll be presenting the Learning to S.E.E. (Sell Efficiency Effectively) workshop in ten cities across the U.S. (one of which, I hope, is geographically convenient for you).

The cities and registration links are listed on the right side of this email (under "Ten-City Tour"). If you sign up before this coming Friday, you'll get $50 off the registration fee. We also have group discounts available so you can get your whole team trained!

And now, on to the blog...

Morning

As I’m sure you’re aware (particularly if you read these Saturday blogs), positivity has a significant effect on productivity. It’s unrealistic to expect yourself to maintain positivity 24/7; however, you do have the power to influence your mood and outlook on a daily basis – and it all starts the minute you wake up. If you can find a way to make the first few minutes of each day enjoyable, you’ll launch yourself on a path to positivity.

So how do you start your day off on the right foot? According to an article published this week on the LifeHacker blog, your morning routine should consist of something that “stretches your mind…makes you feel healthy, or…just makes you feel like a kid again.” One of the more astute arguments the author makes is that you should avoid checking email first thing in the morning. If you wake up and immediately think about all of the things you have to take care of during the day, you’re going to start your day with stress (and stress inhibits productivity).
