I’ve had a few experiences where I’ve been able to cross paths with people who have inspired me or could be key to my business dealings.  In the cases where I’ve been aware that might happen, I’ve been able to prepare myself and have memorable, positive interactions with them.  The key wasn’t so much about pitching myself, but seizing the moment.  To say the least, I want my fellow sales professionals to experience the same thing!
